Normandy has many facets. We go on a camping holiday to discover the landing beaches and we fall in love with its green countryside. We go there for its seaside resorts and we come back for Monet's gardens in Giverny.
One of the main assets of Normandy is of course its maritime facade. On the Channel coast, Normandy alternates the rocky cliffs of Etretat, the landing beaches and prestigious seaside resorts like Deauville or Honfleur.
In addition to the D-Day beaches, Normandy has a number of historic sites. The most famous are obviously the sites linked to the Second World War like the Caen Memorial or Sainte Mère Eglise and its mythical paratrooper. But Normandy did not wait for the landing to be a place of history, as the Bayeux tapestry reminds us of the epic of William the Conqueror. And of course Mont Saint Michel. This masterpiece of Gothic art, unique in its kind, draws its recognizable silhouette among the waves of the English Channel.
When you leave the coast, Normandy offers superb hedgerow landscapes punctuated by orchards and peaceful villages where you can taste the gourmet specialties of Normandy, whether cider or the many cheeses of Normandy.
