Region of lights and colors which has always fascinated painters, from Cézanne to Matisse or Renoir, the French Riviera owns fantastic shores where the deep blues of Mediterranée Sea and of a unspoiled sky melt with the red reflections of the rocky cliffs which hide heavenly coves. The last shapes of the Alps run towards the sea to jump in the water and draw amazing landscapes such as the Calanques de Cassis, Esteral Massif, the Sainte Baume or Hyères islands.
On these steep shores nest lovely stone villages. Some of them have become high places of the regional tourism such as Saint Raphael or Saint Tropez, but other ones have succeeded in keeping an authentic soul and still live at the sweet rythm of the markets.
Facing the continental Europe but also the Mediterranean world, the French Riviera is a land of mixing with several influences. You'll find traces of roman world in the theatre of Frejus or in the arena of Cimiez on the highs of Nice. Marseille, especially, has seen coming and going most of the civilizations of the mediterranean world. On the French Riviera, you'll also find numerous opportunities of visits such as the Monaco aquarium, Cannes and its croisette or Antibes, one the capital of Jazz music since the 1920s.
