More than any other region of France perhaps, the Loire Valley summarizes what makes France. On the small roads leading from village to village along the river, we find indeed a land of traditions and gastronomy where landscapes covered with vineyards synonyms of delicious moments have inspired some of the great figures of French culture, Rabelais to Ronsart through Proust and Vinci.
Everything here is synonymous with refinement as towns and villages that combine elegance such as Loches and its medieval citadel or Blois installed on the banks of the Loire. And especially , of course , an incredible architectural heritage with most wonderful castles than each other . Chambord with its 365 turrets erected in the heart of the park , Chenonceau "Castle of the Ladies" spanning the Cher, Amboise, castle of de Vinci, Cheverny which inspired Hergé's Moulinsart , Ussé that inspired the castle of Sleeping Beauty , etc. Every 20 kilometers, is a new wonder that awaits you .
Bordered by a long bike path , the Loire, World Heritage of UNESCO, is easily explored on bike.
