The Pays de la Loire region looks like Nantes, the great city of the region. A region that oscillates between its maritime character sturdy Breton influences and a certain elegance that carries the Loire at the discretion of the waters.
Valley of the Kings, the Loire displays on tis shores sumptuous Renaissance castles inherited from the days when the nobility of France loved the relaxed lifestyle of the region conducive to hunting in Sologne forest or vine growing on lands of Anjou and Touraine. One more beautiful than others, these castles are all architectural wonders, the most famous are Chambord, Chenonceau and Amboise.
Cities are not left with the elegant Saumur, Blois and Tours, which contain in their old towns of half-timbered facades and beautiful buildings of yellow stone. As one approaches the coast, the Pays de la Loire with the changing face of Vendee, marshes and vast sandy beaches, or the famous resorts such as the Loire Atlantique La Baule or Pornichet, destinations of choice for the holidays by the sea and for water sports. Not to mention the lovely island of Noirmoutier.
Comic fans will enjoy in this region that inspired Hergé for Tintin. The famous reporter has indeed walked the docks of the port of Saint Nazaire and is the Cheverny castle that inspired the Belgian cartoonist Marlinspike Hall. Between culture and relaxation, the campsites Loire Valley offers campers many reasons to come to camp on the shores of the Atlantic or on the banks of the Loire.
