Just the name of Saint Tropez brings to our minds images of the international Jet Set and large yachts docked in the small port of the little town. Of course Saint Tropez is that, but it is also much more. Leaning on the hills of the countryside, the lovely and colorfull houses of the village are facing the sea.
Town of light and colors, Saint Tropez seduced famous painters during the whole 20th century, from Signac to Matisse or Bonnard. In the heart of the village, l'Annonciade is Saint Tropez museum and displays paintings of painters who came on Côte d'Azur to be inspired by its light and colors.
The most famous place of the village is undoubtly its port. Overcrowded in July and August, it is nonetheless an unmissable place of a visit of Saint Tropez. It is the theatre of Saint Tropez's life with its terrasses, restaurant or galeries.
Saint Tropez beaches are amongst the nicest of the Var and Côte d'Azur. They stretch out for 10 km. Even if they are coverd with thin sand, they are frequently separated by rocks, creating small coves.
